Bring a little touch of the farm life into your home.
We are now offering our 100% Florida Cowhides through our website. Unlike most other hides that come from Brazil, our hides are 100% American Made. The cows were born, raised and harvested in North Florida (by us) and their hides were tanned in Central Florida.
We have unique colors and patterns but we are especially proud of how soft some hides are and how large some are. Hides range from 5.5' x 5' to 7.5 x 7' (H x W).
Cowhides are very durable and long-lasting rugs. Dogs and humans alike enjoy sprawling out on a cowhide for relaxing or napping or romping or whatever one does on the floor!
Hides are easy to clean and maintain and add great aesthetic to any home.
Folks, these are genuine products from our farm. I personally load up a batch of stinky, heavy, wet hides in my SUV and drive them 8 hours to drop them off, sometimes napping at a rest stop surrounded by their perfume!
It's usually 1 year from when the steer is harvested until I have a finished hide back in our possession.
All that to say we are serious about using all parts of our cows to be as sustainable as possible here at Arrowhead Beef.
All hides must be purchased separately from any meat.

Hide 'Must Knows' by Tony
Size : Measured by the height (neck to tail) by the width (belly to belly)
Color : Tony's best assessment of color based on Crayola! Some look slightly different in person than in the photo.
Hair : Refers to length of hair. Most foreign hides are what I would consider "short hair". Even our Medium hair length is noticeably longer than most.
Tony's Tanning Grade : This is my assessment of how well the hide was salted and then tanned. Reduced score is usually on account of burn marks (spots where the hair is gone leaving raw hide) or holes (spots where we cut too close while skinning, creating a hole). In fact all hides have been tanned perfectly but this gives a description of the blemishes during harvest and salting. I graded these relative to each other. These range from an A to a D.
Tony's Rug Notes : Short description to add emphasis to what I like about each rug.
Tony's Rug Score : Overall score based on Tanning Grade, Color/Pattern, Size, etc. This is not the same as the Tanning Grade. For example, a rare color hide with a lower Tanning Grade may still be a 9/10 because it is beautiful and/or rare. Only 3 of my 36 hides received a perfect score.
And remember, all hides are unique. That means there is only one of each hide posted. Once that one is sold, it's gone!
